This version of Facebook, which includes Messenger, allows you to stay connected with text-only Facebook when you run out of data until you purchase data again. When you have a data balance, you will get to experience regular Facebook to view photos and videos while using your data at standard rates. Once you run out of data, you will automatically switch to text-only Facebook which allows you to post text, comment, like and see any text on Facebook without using your data.

Mobile Center

Mobile Center is a customer engagement channel within the Facebook app that Airtel has launched to deliver seamless, in-app sales and service experiences. Within Mobile Center, Airtel’s subscribers can quickly and easily purchase data packs from Airtel without needing to leave the Facebook app. Also you’ll be able to do mobile recharge and download MyAirtel App without any data charge.

Discover App

A mobile web and Android app that allows you to browse the internet using a daily balance of data from Airtel. Discover only supports low-bandwidth features such as text and icons when using data. It is available via both the mobile web at 0.discoverapp.com and an Android app. You will be able to use up to 15MB per day and up to 150MB a month without any data charge. You will be notified once you’ve reached your daily 15MB quota.

Answer: Text-only Facebook allows you to message, post text, like, comment, and see all text on Facebook without using your data.

Q. Which Messenger features can I use without data charges?

Answer: You can send and receive textual messages, stickers, emojis through your mobile browser or the Messenger app without using your data.

Q. Which Messenger features use my data?

Answer: You can use all Messenger features with paid data. This includes sending and receiving photos and videos and making and receiving voice calls while using your data.

Q. How do I access regular Facebook?

Answer: To access regular Facebook, you will need to purchase data. Once you have successfully purchased more data, you will then have access to regular Facebook with photos and videos and will be charged for all data usage at standard rates.

Q. How do I access text-only Facebook?

Answer: The only way to access text-only Facebook is to run out of data. If you have a data balance, you will use regular Facebook while using your data.

Q. Can I download the Facebook app for free?

Answer: No, standard data rates apply in order to download the Facebook app. You can still use this version of Facebook in your mobile web browser and like with the app, you will only have access to text only Facebook when you run out of data.

Q. How will I know if I am using regular or text-only Facebook?

Answer: You can check to see if you are using text-only or regular Facebook by looking at the top of your Facebook app or mobile browser. If you are using text-only Facebook, it will indicate that you are out of data and you won't be able to see any photos or videos. If you are using regular Facebook, you will not see a different colored bar at the top, and you will be able to see all photos and videos while using your data.

Q. Do I need to use data to view, upload or share photos?

Answer: You'll need to use your data to view all photos with regular Facebook.

Q. Can I decide which videos and photos to view when I am using my data?

Answer: You cannot decide which videos or photos to view once you are using your data with regular Facebook. When using your data with regular Facebook, all videos and photos in your feed will be viewable.

Q. What happens when I click on an article or link that takes me away from Facebook? 

Answer: If you click on an article or link, you will be alerted that you will use data at standard rates if you continue to an external website.

Q. Who can get this offer?

Answer: This offer is available to anyone with a Facebook account who is a mobile customer of Airtel.

Q. How do I get this offer?

Answer: You will be able to access the text-only version of Facebook when you run out of data while using Facebook. Once you run out of data, you will receive a notification to agree to the terms and conditions to use text-only Facebook. Once you purchase data, you can start using regular Facebook to view photos and videos using your data at standard rates.

Q. How long does the offer last?

Answer: There is currently no end date for this offer and if Airtel discontinues, we will inform customers accordingly.

Q. How do I disable this version of Facebook?

Answer: You can Turn Off Modes on the free or data mode settings page. If you disable the data mode or free mode settings, you will no longer be using Facebook without data charges, and will use your data to browse Facebook

Q. How do I re-enable this version of Facebook?

Answer: First, tap the menu icon with three bars at the top right in the tab bar. Then tap on the bookmark of Mobile Center Airtel Airtel. This will take you to a settings screen that allows you to toggle the button in the top right to ON to re-enable this version of Facebook.

Q. How do I stop using text-only Facebook?

Answer: If you don't want to use text-only Facebook anymore, you can purchase data to view photos and videos again or disable the text- only version of Facebook.

Q. How do I stop using regular Facebook?

Answer: Once you've purchased more data, you cannot switch to text only until you have used up your data or exhausted your data pack.

Q. Do you need to have a Facebook account to use text-only Facebook?

Answer: Yes.

Q. What if I registered for Facebook with a different operator number?

Answer: It doesn't matter if you signed up for Facebook with a different carrier number as long as you're using data with Airtel network.

Q. Which devices can use this offer?

Answer: This version of Facebook is available on a supported mobile web browser, Facebook Lite app or the Facebook for Android app. This offer is not supported and cannot be used with Facebook for iOS, Facebook Windows Phone, or Facebook BlackBerry app.

Answer: Discover is a mobile web and Android app that you can use to browse the internet witout any charge on your mobile phone using a daily balance of data from Airtel. You can browse without any charge up to 15MB data per day, month total 150MB.

To offer a sustainable program, Discover supports only low-bandwidth traffic when using data. Certain features including video, audio, streaming, file transfer, or certain other types of data-intensive traffic are not supported when using data, as explained in the Discover Technical Information. You can always choose to use mobile data purchased from Airtel to browse video and audio on the internet. To start using Discover, you need to use Airtel SIM in your phone.

Q.Why does Discover have certain technical limitations when using data?

Answer: Discover is designed to provide a sustainable and secure web browsing experience that allows you to browse the internet using data from Airtel. To facilitate low bandwidth browsing, Discover proxies websites on the internet. This product design includes certain technical limitations that apply equally to all sites browsed with Discover.

Q. Will Meta influence which sites people can access on Discover?

Answer: Meta does not select which sites on the internet can be browsed with Discover. Discover can be used to browse websites that are available on the internet through Airtel. In order to provide low-bandwidth and secure internet browsing, Discover has certain technical limitations that are applied equally to all sites, including Facebook.
